FAQ
Everything you need to know about understanding and taking care of your MOTOLIV pieces.
The natural-wood pieces shield tables and countertops from pots, pans, mugs, and casserole dishes straight from the stove or oven, with heat resistance up to 240°C (464°F). Always set hot cookware down gently and keep using oven mitts to handle the dish itself.
The pieces fan open and interlock into a freestanding little tree that cradles a hot dish, then fold completely flat for drawer storage. Use a single piece as a mug coaster, link several for a larger pot, or leave the assembled tree out as a holiday centerpiece.
Both shapes function identically; the top piece is simply the tree's finishing accent. More pieces mean a wider surface: three pieces suit mugs and small pots, while five comfortably hold a casserole or serving dish. The set is intentionally compact, so check the size guidance on the product page for large cookware.
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry promptly — do not soak the pieces or put them in the dishwasher, as standing water can warp natural wood. With this simple wipe-clean routine, the smooth, splinter-free finish stays holiday-ready year after year.

These got so many compliments at Thanksgiving dinner. The foldable tree design is clever — it fans out to hold a hot casserole dish and folds flat for storage. Wood feels smooth and well finished, no splinters. I got the apple-top set and it's adorable.
Gifted this to my mom and she immediately put it on display. It's practical but also looks like a decoration. Wood has a nice matte finish and wipes clean easily. Arrived well packaged with no damage.
Perfect size for mugs and small pots. The folding mechanism feels sturdy and the natural wood tones match my farmhouse kitchen. Only wish there were a size guide — it's smaller than I expected but still works for my needs.
I was worried it'd be just a decor piece but it actually protects my table from hot dishes. The individual pieces work as coasters too. Packaged nicely, would make a great hostess gift. Star version is next on my list.
